When a Guitar Case Becomes a Fragrance: Electric Wood Extrait Room 1015

The genesis of Electric Wood Extrait by Room 1015 is rooted in a vivid recollection of Dr. Mike Partouche's first guitar, which his father presented to him one morning. The guitar was a jet-black Gibson, and when Dr. Partouche opened the case, he was greeted by the aroma of lacquered wood, metal strings, and the synthetic material of the case. For the brand's 10th anniversary, this original idea was transformed into an extrait version. It is now more intense, edgy, and charged with adrenaline, akin to a guitar bursting into flames during a solo.

Olfactory Notes

At the onset, I sense a zest of cardamom and saffron permeating the atmosphere, intertwined with the warm glow of nutmeg — akin to the moment when I plug in my guitar and the amplifier hums to life. Then, the heart of the fragrance reveals itself: the delicate iris mingles with the balsamic notes of myrrh, while oakmoss provides a grounding touch, lending a sense of ruggedness and dusty sophistication. Finally, the base settles in — a rich foundation of cedar and cypriol, enveloped in the earthy whisper of vetiver, softened by a cozy embrace of vanilla, reminiscent of the guitar case, lined with leather, left behind after the solo has concluded.
