Perroy Goldfawn: A Beautiful First Impression With a Catch

My First Meeting With Perroy Goldfawn

There is something exciting about opening a discovery set from a young perfume brand. With established houses, I usually have some idea of what I am about to smell. With a newer name, everything feels less predictable, and that uncertainty is part of the fun.

Perroy appeared in 2024 with a bright, colorful collection that immediately catches the eye. Goldfawn was the fragrance I decided to spend more time with because I wanted to know whether the scent itself could be as memorable as the presentation.

My first reaction was simple: this smells pleasant.

My second reaction came later: is pleasant enough at this price?

That question stayed with me through the entire wear.

The Opening Is Sweet, Bright and Instantly Likeable

The first spray of Goldfawn is easy to understand. I get sweetness, fruit, flowers, and a soft cosmetic powderiness almost immediately.

There is something that reminds me of lily and iris, but the floral side never becomes heavy. Instead, it sits beside a juicy tropical impression that makes me think of mango and passion fruit.

It Feels Like Summer in a Makeup Bag

That may sound unusual, but it is the image that came to mind.

Imagine opening a makeup bag during a summer holiday. There is the soft smell of powder and scented cosmetics, but around it you can also feel warm air, fruit, sunshine, and something cheerful.

Goldfawn has that kind of atmosphere.

It is not dark or challenging. It wants to smell attractive from the beginning, and in that sense it succeeds.

There is also a noticeable synthetic quality, but I do not automatically see that as a problem. Modern perfume can smell polished and synthetic without smelling cheap. Here, the composition feels smooth and clean.

The problem is that Goldfawn never completely escapes the feeling of being pleasant rather than special.

Goldfawn Leans Feminine to Me

Perfume does not need a gender label, and anyone can wear whatever makes them happy. Still, Goldfawn definitely leans feminine to my nose.

The combination of sweet fruit, soft flowers, and powder gives it a gentle, polished character. I can easily imagine this working beautifully on someone who enjoys bright, uncomplicated fragrances that feel clean and pretty.

Easy to Wear Almost Anywhere

One thing Goldfawn does very well is wearability.

I could see it working for the office, a walk through the city, a birthday lunch, a casual celebration, a holiday, or simply a warm day when you want to smell pleasant without making a dramatic statement.

It is not aggressive. It also does not demand a particular outfit or occasion.

That flexibility is a real advantage, especially for someone who wants an easy perfume for spring and summer.

At the same time, the higher the price becomes, the more I expect a fragrance to give me a reason to remember it.

Projection Is Moderate and Quickly Becomes Intimate

Goldfawn has a decent presence in the beginning. I would describe the projection as moderate rather than strong.

For the first part of the wear, people reasonably close to you should notice it. After that, it begins to sit closer to the skin.

On a five point scale, I would place the sillage at around 3.5 out of 5.

That is completely fine for this style of perfume. Not every fragrance needs to be huge. I often prefer something controlled for everyday use.

Around Four Hours Feels Realistic

I would not buy Goldfawn expecting eight, ten, or twelve hours of wear.

For me, around four hours feels much more realistic, depending on skin, temperature, and how heavily you spray.

That means this is probably a fragrance you may want to refresh during the day.

There is nothing wrong with moderate longevity. The issue is whether the entire experience justifies what you are being asked to pay.

And this is where I became less enthusiastic.

The Price Is Where Goldfawn Loses Me

Goldfawn can reportedly sit in a price range of roughly 18,000 to 25,000 in local online stores.

At that level, I want more than a pretty opening and a comfortable few hours.

I want either a composition that feels distinctive, performance that impresses me, exceptional materials, or an emotional quality that makes me stop thinking about the price.

Goldfawn does not quite get me there.

I Like It, but I Would Value It Much Lower

If I smelled this blindly without seeing the bottle or knowing the brand, I would probably place it much closer to the equivalent of 7,000 to 10,000.

That does not mean it smells bad. Actually, that is what makes the situation frustrating.

Goldfawn is likable. It is sunny, feminine, soft, fruity, floral, and easy to wear. I would happily smell it on someone.

I just do not feel the composition gives me enough personality or performance to make the higher retail price feel natural.

A beautiful presentation can create desire, especially with a young brand trying to establish an identity. But once that first visual impression disappears, the fragrance still has to carry the experience.

For me, Goldfawn almost does it, but not completely.

Who Should Try Perroy Goldfawn?

Goldfawn makes the most sense for someone who loves sweet fruity florals, powdery textures, tropical brightness, and easy daytime perfumes.

If you dislike dark woods, heavy amber, strong spices, or dense compositions, Goldfawn may feel refreshing because it stays on the lighter side.

It could also work well for someone who cares more about mood and presentation than extreme performance.

Still, I would strongly recommend sampling before buying a full bottle.

This is the kind of fragrance that can smell lovely for fifteen minutes and then leave you wondering whether you received enough for the money several hours later.

Final Thoughts: Pretty, Pleasant, but Not Convincing Enough

My time with Goldfawn left me with mixed feelings.

I enjoyed the opening. I like the bright combination of fruit, flowers, sweetness, and powder. I like the cheerful summer mood, and I understand why the colorful Perroy collection can attract attention.

But there is nothing here that made me forget the price.

Goldfawn feels like a charming fragrance that wants to be easy, feminine, and sunny. It succeeds at all three. What it does not do, at least for me, is create enough depth, originality, or lasting power to feel like an obvious luxury purchase.

If the price were lower, I would be much more enthusiastic.

At the current level, my reaction is more cautious.

I like Goldfawn. I just do not love it enough to pay a premium for it.

And sometimes that is the most useful thing a fragrance review can tell you.
